Catalogue Note
Girtin's watercolour, which dates from circa 1799-1800, depicts the shore of the Medway at low tide with mud flats and pools in the foreground. Various boat houses, sheds and stranded boats can be seen beyond. Two hulks are afloat on the river and a low range of hills can be seen in the distance
