Catalogue Note
Paul Mergier's panel was originally mounted as a three-part folding screen in a frame by Edgar Brandt. The lower registers of the screen frame, with stylized floral and foliate motifs, were removed so the panel could be mounted on the wall. However, these registers accompany the lot.
