Catalogue Note

Roberts travelled to Spain in the Autumn of 1832. In the Spring of 1833 he visited Gibraltar and Morrocco which gave him an insight into another world completely separate from all that was familiar to him in northern Europe. After leaving Morocco he then travelled on to Cadiz, Jerez and Seville, where he spent five months. As a result of an outbreak of cholera he decided to return home to England which he reached on 22nd October.
