Mirza Mohammad Hossein Kazerouni (1870-1932), head of the Kazerouni family of Isfahan, was a prominent international businessman and philanthropist and set up the first textile mill in Iran (Vatan Textile). The carpet was passed to his daughter in law, Haji Khanem Sadat Amin Kazerouni on her marriage; she later gifted it to her eldest daughter, Nayer Azam Kazerouni(1926-1976).
