Catalogue Note

This would seem to be the only known version of this portrait type of the Prince. Ziesenis also painted the Prince at three-quarter length in 1762 (now in a private collection, see K. Schrader, Der Bildnismaler Johann Georg Ziesenis 1716-1776, Munster 1995, p. 210, no. 154, fig. 134).
