A fine Louis XVI style porcelain mounted ormolu cartel clock and matching barometer by Henri Dasson, Paris 1882 and 1878

both incorporating thermometers, one Centigrade and one Réaumur scale, noting record Parisian temperatures, the enamel dials inscribed HRY DASSON, both cases inscribed HENRY DASSON, the clock dated 1882, the barometer 1878, each backed with modern fabric covered boards.

Henri Dasson (1825-1896), 106 rue Vielle-du-Temple, is best known for his copies of eighteenth-century models of furniture and objects, especially those of the Garde Meuble, made with gilt-bronze of the finest quality.  He showed at the Expositions of 1878 and 1889 before closing his workshop in 1894, two years before his death.  His grave at the Pére-Lachaise cemetary is marked with his bust by Dallier.  His signature was always anglicized as "Henry Dasson."
