A George IV silver-gilt "Portland Vase" wine cooler, Philip Rundell for Rundell, Bridge and Rundell, London 1820

modeled after the Roman glass original, the cast body with a frieze of partly-draped maidens and youths beneath trees and a flying putto, the slip-lock upper body with herringbone-chased handles, the base with a roundel of a youth in Phrygian cap, detachable liner and inner rim, marked on body, upper body, and liner, the last also stamped underneath with the Latin signature of Rundell, Bridge and Rundell.
