Description

  • The movement by Guillaume Isidore Champion, d. 1765, was probably resold by one of his brothers or by his widow.

  • height 18 1/2 in.; width 12 3/4 in.
  • 47 cm; 32 cm
with a white enamelled dial, the striking movement signed on the backplate G.I. Champion a Paris, the rectangular glazed case fitted at the corners with columnar supports, raised on an ormolu-mounted grey marble base.  Movement and case possibly associated, one panel cracked.
