Dr. Born provided this 'perfectly-formed human placenta from the easiest birthing he had ever attended' (The Art of Frederick Sommer, p. 222).

This is believed to be the earliest known print of this image.  Another print of this image is in the collection of the J. Paul Getty Museum.
