Catalogue Note
Osip Makismovich Brik (1888-1945) was an avant-garde Russian writer, one of the most important members of the Russian formalists school, and a co-founder of the magazine LEF (Leftist Front for the Arts). This image is an unpublished illustration for the cover of the magazine. The lettering in Brik's right eye glass reads 'LEF'.
