A near contemporary copy after Lancret's original in Charlottenberg, Berlin (see M. Taverner Holmes, Nicolas Lancret 1690 -1743, New York 1991, pp. 30-1, reproduced). A comparable replica, of similar dimensions (124.5 by 111.8 cm.), was sold South Kensington, Christie's, 11 July 2003, lot 185 for £41,125.
