The present painting is part of a series of paintings depicting the twelve apostles.  Two other panels from this series, Saint Andrew and a Saint Jude, are in the collection of The University of Michigan Museum of Art (see University of Michigan Museum of Art Bulletin, vol. V, 1970-1971, pp. 44-45)
