Bought by the Herwegs in Munich in 1963 through Walther Bernt.

Catalogue Note

The present work was unknown to Dr. Hans-Ulrich Beck when he published a catalogue raisonné of van Mosscher's work in his Kunstler um Jan van Goyen in 1991. We are grateful to him however for confirming the attribution on the basis of a transparency.
