Catalogue Note

We are grateful to George S. Keyes for informing us that he no longrer has reservations about the attribution of this and related pictures, including, among others, the similar battle scene in Stockholm, Nationalmuseum, inv. no. NM 1690 (see Keyes, under Literature, p. 128, cat. no. 34, reproduced plate 289) which he has recently re-examined at first hand, and which he also now accepts as autograph.  He dates these paintings to the late 1620s.
