Catalogue Note
This unidentified artist appears to have been active in the town of Nuremberg in the early 1560s (see G.K. Nagler, Die Monogrammisten..., vol. III, Munich 1863, p. 88). Another portrait by this artist, dated 1563, is in the townhall of Nuremberg. Friedländer attributed this portrait to Anthonis Mor (1519-1575), according to a note in the R.K.D.
