This composition is derived from a painting by Jan Brueghel the Younger, in a private collection (see K. Ertz, Jan Breughel der Jüngere (1601-1678). Die Gemälde mit kritischem Oeuvrekatalog, Freren 1984, p. 240, cat. no. 61, reproduced p. 239). This composition was probably copied after his father Jan Brueghel the Elder (1568-1625).
