Traced monotype, 1899-1902, cut out, on wove paper, supported on firm white card, in good condition apart from two foxmarks, slightly light-stained

Catalogue Note

Although this monotype was exhibited  by Marcel Guiot as a work from Gauguin's first Tahitian journey, Field suggests that it was more likely to be related to the artist's second journey, dating from the period 1899-1902.
