Catalogue Note
Two very similar drawings are known, depicting the same lizard but surrounded by different insects. One, in Florence, is a signed work by Johannes Bronckhorst, while the other has been tentatively attributed by Anne Zaal to Herman Henstenburgh (see Anne M. Zaal, 'Herman Henstenburgh 1667-1726,' Dissertation, Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam, 1991, vol. I, p. 85, reproduced fig. 8, and vol. II, catalogue number B 001, reproduced).
