This highly animated composition is typical of Poccetti. With its many figures arranged in complex poses, and vigorous pen-work, the drawing compares with the Composition in the form of a Lunette with many Figures in the Mediceo-Lorenese Collection (see P.C. Hamilton, Disegni di Bernardino Poccetti, exhib. cat., Florence, Uffizi, 1980, p. 71, cat. no. 59, reproduced fig. 72)
