Catalogue Note

Although typical of Busiri, this landscape, alongside lot 148, was originally thought to be by Gasparo Vanvitelli, as may be seen by the old Italian sale label on the reverse of the backing panel.  This attribution was presumably given as a result of the added initials: G.V.W..
