Catalogue Note
Some sources state that Frans Boudewijns, whose name is also sometimes written Bauduin, was the son of Adriaen Frans Boudewijns, some say the nephew, but in any case he was his pupil. A number of signed drawings, dating between 1725 and 1740, are in Vienna, London, Brussels and Munich (for further information, see Neue Zeichnungen alter Meister, exh. cat., Münster, Westfälisches Landesmuseum, 1981, pp. 79-80).
