Catalogue Note
The lengthy research of Jacqueline Labbé and Lise Bicart-Sée has permitted the partial reconstruction, on the basis of inventory numbers, of the splendid collection of Dezallier d'Argenville (1680-1765). In the sequence of the collection, this drawing's number falls between those of drawings by Charles Parrocel and Hyacinthe Collin de Vermont (see J. Labbé and L. Bicart-Sée, La Collection de dessins d'Antoine-Joseph Dezallier d´Argenville, Paris 1996, p. 336).
