William Hay fl.1776-1797

Hay exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1776 and 1797 from London addresses, although he appears to have lived in Plymouth in 1777.  He exhibited mainly portraits and miniatures, with the exception of four landscapes in 1797, the date of the present works.  These may have been exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1797, as nos.109 and 111, both entitled View of the Sea Shore.
