Sapphire and diamond ring, Herz-Belperron, circa 1950

Designed by Suzanne Belperron, the cushion-shaped sapphire weighing approximately 5.50 carats, within a domed frame designed as a scallop shell pavé-set with numerous round diamonds weighing approximately 3.75 carats, size 6, partly rubbed maker's mark for Darde et Fils, French assay mark.
