After opening a clothing boutique in 1967 on Maximilianstrasse, Munich’s most exclusive shopping street, Rudolph Moshammer became a leading figure in the German fashion world. His publications and frequent appearances on television made him known not only as a creator of colourful men’s fashion, but also a well loved personality. His flamboyant persona notwithstanding, he was very concerned with the plight of the homeless, donating both his time and money to the cause. After his death in January, Sotheby’s Amsterdam had the honour of selling the majority of his and his mother’s jewellery collection, with the remaining pieces offered here.
