1938 Goudey #274 Joe DiMaggio PSA 8 NM-MT

Following a couple of lackluster issues and a year without even producing a major baseball card set, Goudey came back with a flourish in 1938. Because of its unique caricature-style design, the issue is sometimes referred to by collectors as the "Heads Up" set. Possibly trying to re-establish some of its lost glory, Goudey began the numbering of this set at #241, right where its classic 1933 series left off. This DiMaggio card is the key to the set and is considered by many collectors to be his rookie. Clean, sharp, and fairly bright, the offered gem has defied the odds to remain indisputably NM-MT.
