As an architect, an artist, and designer of objects, tableware, furniture, and now carpets, I attempt to metamorphose those architectural lineaments which appear more or less consistently in my buildings into other mediums on a different scale, as part of an absorbing interest in the creation of my ideas into other forms that will complement my architecture.

In the V’Soske Rug I have taken particular care in retaining the visual elements of an architectural floor plan for a residence (it is, afterall, a rug) as the outline, but adding the element of color to dramatize what might otherwise be construed as a black and white drawing.  I have muted those colors, however, so that there will be pronounced definition and dimension, yet still retain the architectonic effect.  A dash of black and red always attracts the attention and they being strong emphatic colors, balance the weight of the dominant design as well as add a bit whimsy.
