30.5-cm latched square brass dial, engraved chapter ring with Roman numerals signed Symon van Leeuwen Amsteldam, pierced hands and engraved alarm disc, date aperture and subsidiary seconds, cherub and crown spandrels with foliate engraving in between, ringed winding holes, movement with five ring turned latched pillars, anchor escapement and rack Dutch half hour striking on two bells, alarm on a bell, Japanned case with gilt decoration of flowers and a landscape on a tortoiseshell imitation ground, hood with moulded cornice and ebonized columns flanking the glazed door, trunk with long rectangular door, moulded base raised on a double moulded plinth, alarm weights lacking
