The Estate of the late Caroline Simpson from the Clyde Bank Collection
William Huggins exhibited at the Royal Academy in London between 1817 and 1844 and was appointed marine painter to King William IV in 1834. Many of his marine subjects were based on sketches made whilst serving with the British East India Company.
