Catalogue Note

Period photographs show this desk situated in the first of two long galleries off the garden room which lead to the bedroom wings of the house. The interior is exquisitely fitted with pigeon holes and drawers incorporating the Greenes' signature cloud-lift motif inspired by Asian furniture designs. Ebony and burlwood are sumptuously incorporated to articulate the drawer pulls, banding and inlaid decoration on the fall front.
