Catalogue Note

A letter from Frances Frieseke Kilmer which reads: "'Dressing' by F.C. Frieseke.  Among the photographs in my posession is one of this painting standing on an easel in my father's studio--he must have been showing it to a collector at the time.  Although the studio photographed was in Mesnil, the painting itself was painted in Paris--my father did not paint models in Mesnil" will accompany the lot.
