"Remington and his friend, writer Julian Ralph, traveled to Montreal and Mattawa, Canada, in December of 1889 to hunt moose.  The account of their adventure was published in Harper's Monthly (October 1890), authored by Ralph and illustrated by Remington" (Hassrick and Webster, p. 307).
