Catalogue Note

James T. Gerry (1796-1854) was the son of Elbridge Gerry (1744-1814), a signer of the Declaration of Independence and Vice President of the United States from 1813 to 1814. James T. Gerry was lost at sea in the sloop-of-war Albany, the vessel he commanded.
