Frank Lloyd Wright

Radio playright and Hollywood filmmaker Arch Oboler, best known for his radio program ''Lights Out,'' was a client of Frank Lloyd Wright from 1940 to 1957.  In 1940 Oboler commissioned Wright to design a mountaintop living complex in Malibu overlooking the Pacific Ocean.  The main residence, which was to be called ''Eaglefeather,'' was never built.  However, Oboler constructed a Wright-designed Gatehouse on the property in 1940 and a Retreat in 1941, which included subsequent additions in 1944 and 1946.  The desk presently offered was orginally located in the office of the Gatehouse, and was later moved around 1989 to Oboler's office in Studio City.
