Catalogue Note
Wife of the Belgian painter Rodolphe Wytsman, Wytsman exhibited regularly from 1882 to 1924, mainly with subjects influenced by Claude Monet and Camille Pissarro. This view is painted near Monet's famous country home and extensive garden at Giverny, where numerous artists, both French and foreign, gathered to absorb firsthand the lessons of Impressionism's best-known and most influential master towards the end of his long career.
