Catalogue Note

This is another version of Cooper's Royal Academy exhibit of 1891 (no. 337, Christie's, 5 October 1984, lot 90). The composition only differs slightly in the proportions and positions of the animals, but lacks the detail on the horizon and particularly in the farmstead and barns in the middle distance to the left.
