Catalogue Note

The most talented of five artist siblings, P.C. la Fargue made numerous topographical drawings in and around The Hague, Rotterdam, Leiden, Haarlem and Amsterdam. Although he made a number of drawings comparable to this of the beach at Scheveningen, this is the artist's only known view of Katwijk.
