The present work is stamped with the artist's estate stamp and authenticated by Gysis' daughter on the reverse with the inscription Hiermit bestätige ich, dass umseitige Ölskizze, Grösse 17 x 23 darstellend ''Mutter und Kind'' von der Hand meines Vaters stamt. Telemach Gysis München Aug. 1921' (I herewith confirm that this oilsketch measuring 17 by 23 which depicts a mother and child is by the hand of my father. Telemach Gysis, Munich Aug. 1921).
