Handwritten in black ink by Katharine Hepburn, dated December 4, 1928 for $24.00, signed Katharine Houghton Hepburn and endorsed by Frances Robinson-Duff on the reverse in black ink. Several unobtrusive vertical fold marks.

Catalogue Note

Frances Robinson-Duff was one of New York City's finest voice and acting coaches in the 1930's. Miss Hepburn reflects on her in her autobiography Me: "Frances Robinson-Duff was an experience...[She] was tall - about five feet seven. She was stout - big stomach, medium bosom, corseted...She sat and tried to teach me how to speak from my diaphragm...[She] was really interested in me. She did her very best and she helped me to learn my way around in the theatre" (p. 82).
