Description

the deity seated on a rockwork base in lalitasana with the right leg drawn up and the left leg folded beneath, with the right arm resting on the raised knee and bent across the body and leaving the fingers in an elegantly relaxed gesture, dressed in loose skirts spreading over the base and leaving the torso bare but for a shawl across the shoulders and adorned with an elaborate jeweled pectoral set with a pendent lotus flower and a long chain set with a dharmacakra, the large rounded face set with elongated eyes and small bud mouth below a concave urna, the hair drawn up on thick locks to a topknot and secured with a high foliate crown set with the Buddha Amitabha on a lotus base against a flaming mandorla within a cloud-shaped panel framed by reticulated scrolls, terminating at the sides with further dharmacakra and pendent lotus flowers, with gilt lacquer applied to the face and hands, and ample traces of red and green pigments overall
