Catalogue Note

Arnold Lakhovsky left Russia in 1925 and in 1926 he settled in Paris. Parisian Gallery Tedesco featured an exhibition of works from his Brittany, Russian Provincial, and Petersburg series. The present view of Pskov as well as lot 52 belong to these two later categories. These remarkable plein air studies reveal Lakhovsky's spontaneity and masterful sense of color.
