Catalogue Note
Chadourne was primarily known for her portraits of Parisian artists, made in the 1920s and 1930s. In 1948, she produced photographic illustrations for Henri de Montherlant’s novel, Les Célibataires (The Bachelors). While Chadourne’s artist portraits appear occasionally at auction, her more experimental work is seen much less frequently. She is believed to be the sister, or wife, of noted Dadaist Paul Chadourne.
