Jacobi immigrated to America in 1936 and, in September of that year, she opened her first American studio in New York City at 24 Central Park South.  The photographs in this lot bear her 24 Central Park South studio stamp.  She stayed at that address until 1938, when she relocated her studio to West 57th Street.
