Both Oscar and his brother William contributed to this volume, which also includes verses by Aubrey de Vere, Edward Dowden, Douglas Hyde, John Todhunter and Alfred Perceval Graves.

Among the five poems by Oscar included here is "Requiescat", about his younger sister Isola, who died at the age of nine in 1867:

Tread lightly, she is near
Under the snow,
Speak gently, she can hear
The daisies grow.

His brother William contributed another five poems. This copy passed from his possession to that of Alexander Teixeira de Mattos (1865-1921), translator and man of letters, and second husband of William's second wife Lily. They both visited him in Paris in 1900, and it was on that occasion that Wilde said, "I am dying beyond my means. I will never outlive the century. The English people would not stand for it" (extract from a letter by Robert Ross to More Adey, 14 December 1900 - see Complete Letters, p.1212). "Lily remarked, a little unfeelingly, that her first husband Willie had made similar prognostications on his deathbed" (Ellmann, p.546).
