* Wolfgang Adam Töpffer Geneva 1766 - 1847 Morillon

The present painting is accompanied by a photo certificate from Dr. Lucien Boissonnas.  Dr. Boissonnas suggests that this is a late work by Töppfer, probably painted in the latter half of the 1820s.  He also suggests that the figure of the woman at far left in the present composition relates to another figure in an earlier work by Töppfer in the Musée d'art et d'histoire, Geneva, (inv. no. 1920-121).

The present painting will be included in M. Boissonnas forthcoming catalogue raisonné on the artist.
