Studio of Herri met de Bles Bouvines circa 1510 - after 1550 Antwerp (?)

The disposition of the figures and boat  is repeated in a drawing by Herri Met de Bles in the Staatliche Museen, Berlin (see N. Muller et al, Henri Met De Bles, Studies and explorations of the world landscape tradition, Princeton 1998, p. 25, reproduced fig. 17). The landscape would also appear to derive from a Bles design, now only known through a copy by a follower preserved in the Boymans van Beuningen Museum, Rotterdam (ibid., p. 149, reproduced fig. 126).
