dated and inscribed with the age of the sitter upper right: ÆTATIS.28./ AN ^o 15.97.

This portrait was attributed to Gortzius Geldorp by the R.K.D. in 1957 and again in 1971 by Alan Braham of the National Gallery, London (both according to a label on the reverse).
