Attributed to Jean-Etienne Liotard Geneva 1702- 1789

The striking difference in degree of finish between the figure's face and her pink dress suggest that this portrait may well be an unfinished work.  In the areas that do seem to have been completed, most notably the face and the fur edge to the dress, the refined modelling and use of light, the technique of hatching and shading in diagonal strokes, and the delicate characterization, all seem to support the attribution to Liotard.
