Catalogue Note

Fra Semplice trained in Verona and then worked at the court of Parma.  Previously his drawings, which are often executed in the same combination of chalks as the present sheet, have been given to Cavedone, Faccini, and sometimes also to Annibale Carracci.  For further information, see D.
