Catalogue Note

The attribution to Antonio Campi is due to Marco Tanzi.  This study can be dated to around 1560 when Antonio Campi was influenced by Bernardino Gatti's fresco of the same subject, executed in 1552 for the church of San Pietro a Po, in Cremona.  This drawing was previously incorrectly attributed to Bernardino Gatti.
